Personality-disordered partners: Documenting the prevalence and calculated, destructive patterns of abuse.
There is no single, agreed-upon statistic for "how many women are malignant narcissists" or "how many people are predatory partners." Estimates vary by diagnostic criteria, population sampled (clinical vs. general), and assessment method. The figures below are the closest available benchmarks, each for a distinct and separately-defined condition.
Forensic psychology draws a well-documented line between two very different kinds of relational harm. This distinction matters more than any prevalence number because it explains why some cases look like a single tragic event and others look like a sustained campaign.
Impulsive, driven by acute emotional escalation. Rage, panic, a sudden threat to the relationship (e.g., discovered infidelity, fear of abandonment). Often poorly planned and sometimes regretted immediately afterward. Most "partner kills partner" news coverage falls into this category statistically. Crimes of passion, acute crisis, or escalation in the context of abuse running the other direction.
Goal-directed and planned, frequently unfolding over months or years, with control. Not a single act as the goal. This is the domain of sustained psychological, financial, and reputational destruction. Psychopathy research (Hare, Porter, and others) consistently finds that psychopathic and malignant narcissistic offenders show markedly higher rates of instrumental, predatory aggression compared to the general offending population, which skews reactive. The "cold, patient, controlled" style of harm is one of the more consistent findings distinguishing this group clinically from ordinary anger, or jealousy-driven violence.
A person who kills in a sudden moment of crisis and a person who spends years dismantling someone's finances, reputation, and mental health before any single crisis point are different phenomenons. Even when both eventually make similar headlines. The second pattern is rarer, harder to prosecute, harder to prove, and harder for the person living through it to name in real time, because it doesn't look like an incident. It looks like a relationship.
Before the phases described in Section 4 begin to show, some predatory partners run a quieter setup stage. These are documented tactics, but each one also overlaps heavily with completely normal early-dating behavior. The distinguishing factor is combination and persistence, not any single item on its own.
Adopting a target's stated preferences, tastes, and interests to manufacture a sense of compatibility. A man listing what he's looking for in a partner verbally or on a dating profile, is handing a blueprint to anyone looking to reflect it back. This is documented in cluster-B and psychopathy research as a way to speed up trust and bypass the normal, slower process of discovering real compatibility. Warning: genuinely compatible people also share real overlap, and normal daters research a match's tastes before a first date. The tell isn't the overlap; it's the flood of common ground; that is beyond coincidence. Which will not survive the boredom, disagreement, and time once there's nothing left to gain by faking it.
Conversations that constantly end on a scripted "win" for the target are consistent with someone managing perception rather than simply being present. This also allows a woman the opportunity to apply sexual innuendo before an actual in-person meeting. This will make it easier for her to entice his emotional connection. She will morph into his ideal woman.
Early, specific questions about a partner's children (proximity, custody schedule), relationship with an ex, work hours, and financial/employment standing are not just conversational curiosity. They assess access and control feasibility: how much time and attention is already spoken for, how entangled he is with a co-parent, how isolated or available he could be. Ordinary curiosity tends to let this information surface gradually; vetting tends to ask for it upfront and specifically. Can she separate him from the herd without him knowing it? This is the behavior of a predator.
A pattern where she withholds access to her own life. He doesn't know where she lives, isn't introduced to her friends, family, or professional contacts, and gets vague answers about her work world. While simultaneously gathering detailed information about his. This prevents him from verifying what she tells him or building outside relationships that could later serve as a reality check, while she accumulates the material to isolate him. Warning: guardedness about home address or slow introductions to family is also just ordinary caution, especially for women meeting new partners. What distinguishes it here is one-sidedness. Her withholding paired with active vetting of him, persisting well past the point normal trust-building would have closed the gap. Typically, women want to show the new guy off to their friends and family.
Reaching out to people adjacent to a target's professional or social life. Vendors, associates, clients, a client's spouse. To plant an unfavorable narrative (temper, instability, dishonesty) before he has any reason to know contact was made or any chance to counter it. Sometimes called "flying monkey" recruitment in the abuse literature: the goal is to have his own circle arrive already distrustful of him, so that any future pushback from him reads as confirmation rather than correction.
Filing reports, sometimes in adjacent jurisdictions to the one where an alleged incident occurred. Sometimes redirected between departments. This is a documented tactic in contested-relationship and family-court literature. Its function is to create an official record that can later be cited, regardless of the report's accuracy, and to do so without the target's immediate knowledge.
Research on coercive control (Evan Stark), narcissistic abuse, and psychopathic predation converges on a fairly consistent sequence. Knowing it does not mean assuming the worst of every new partner. It means being able to name what's happening early, typically by phase 2 or 3, rather than only in hindsight.
Most people, including most people who behave badly under stress, do not operate this way. Conflict in a non-disordered relationship looks like accountability and repair. This pattern is defined by the opposite: denial instead of accountability, escalation instead of repair, and control as the through-line connecting every phase. The value in mapping it out isn't to view every future relationship with suspicion. It's to have a named structure to check against, early, if the pattern starts to repeat.
The number one problem men will face when they find themselves in this cycle of abuse, is being believed. It is difficult for men to come forward and admit that they are being abused. Once a man does come forward and asks for help, because of all the previous efforts she has made, he is not believed. This makes it even harder for him to try again.
Sections one through five were written from the outside, looking in. Providing explanations of what has occurred to me, citing experts, and studies along the way. What I'm going to provide now is the reality of what I have been through for the past nine years, and them some. This will be a rather simple list of what I have endured and continue to live through.
Once at her apartment on Nettle's Place in Sherwood, Oregon. Another time at the Holladay Motel in Forest Grove, Oregon.
During one of our stays at the Larkspur Landing Extended Stay Suites, in Hillsboro. Thea Magnusson gave me a bunch of Rohypnol. What her goal was, I cannot honestly say. I do know who she got it from, his name is tony reynolds. I'm also aware that before returning to Larkspur from Tony Reynolds, in Portland, she met some people at Fred Meyers. This was about ten minutes away from the hotel. My suspicion is that she was meeting the guys that would eventually help her by harassing me, threatening me, and sabotaging my truck.
sarah jane elkind gave me a hot shot using aminoglycosides. This was a frightening experience. At first due to the initial effects I was experiencing. My vision didn't fade out like I was losing consciousness. It was in a split-second. My equilibrium was nonexistent just as quickly. Neither of which, had I experienced while using. Once these had subsided, what was just as frightening was the expression on Sarah's face as she was looking at me. She could see that I was not doing well, yet didn't move to help me. Sarah supplied the meth. Which she got from tony reynolds. Sarah also prepared the syringes, and had not displayed any ill effects. Instantly I suspected she was the cause.
There are a great deal of things that Thea Felice Magnusson and Sarah Jane Elkind have done to me; mostly Thea. Most of which fall into these categories: Psychological Torture, Emotional Abuse, Physical Abuse, Sexual Abuse, Terroristic Threats, Terrorism, Harassment, Stalking, Stalking By Proxy, False Police Reports, and others that I don't recall the legal terminology of as it relates to the diagnosis criteria of her personality disorders.
If someone wants to know what criteria is used to diagnose Narcissistic Personality Disorder, the DSM-5-TR (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders fifth edition 2022) is where accurate information can be found. This is published by the APA (American Psychiatric Association). Globally the ICD (International Classification of Diseases) is used. This is published by the WHO (World Health Organization). On a side note... The relationship between the DSM and the ICD as far as insurance claims goes, is interesting.
